Stretched Screen Printing Frames
The screen printing frame is the core of the printing process — the structure on which the mesh is stretched, through which ink passes to transfer your design onto fabric, paper, wood, metal and other materials. In this category you'll find Keygadgets screen printing frames — in aluminium and wood, in various mesh counts and sizes — selected to suit any project, from small artisan runs to regular workshop production.
Thanks to our 40+ years of experience in the field, we also offer a customisation service: you can order a pre-stretched frame already exposed with your design, ready to use as soon as you receive it. Just send us your vector file (CDR, AI or PDF) and we take care of the rest.
Which mesh count should you choose?
Mesh count (threads per centimetre) is the most important parameter when choosing a screen printing frame. It determines how much ink passes through the mesh and what level of detail you can reproduce:
- 43T mesh — low density, high ink deposit. Ideal for printing on dark fabrics, plastisol and high-viscosity inks.
- 55T mesh — balance between deposit and detail. The most common choice for general textile printing on T-shirts and bags.
- 77T mesh — good definition for medium-detail designs. Suitable for paper, cardboard and fabric with water-based inks.
- 90T – 120T mesh — high definition for halftones, fine text and detailed artwork. Requires low-viscosity inks.

Aluminium screen printing frames
Aluminium profile frames are the preferred choice for professional and semi-professional use. Aluminium is lightweight, strong and doesn't warp with moisture — it maintains mesh tension over time far better than wood. Our aluminium frames are compatible with most manual screen printing machines, including the K-SER Zero and K-SER1 Evo presses from Keygadgets.
Wooden screen printing frames
Wooden frames are the entry-level option for beginners or occasional use. They cost less than aluminium and are well suited for first experiences and small projects. With proper care they last well, but can warp if frequently wetted.

FAQ – Screen Printing Frames
What is the difference between an aluminium and a wooden screen printing frame?
Aluminium frames are lighter, more resistant to moisture and maintain mesh tension better over time. They're the preferred choice for professional use. Wooden frames are more affordable and suitable for beginners or occasional use, but can warp if frequently wetted.
What mesh count do I need for T-shirt printing?
For standard T-shirt printing with water-based inks, 55T mesh is the most widely used — a good balance between ink deposit and print definition. For dark backgrounds with plastisol, 43T provides better coverage. For fine details or halftones, use 77T or 90T.
Can I reuse the same frame for different designs?
Yes. After each job you can clean the frame, remove the emulsion with a screen stripper and re-coat it with a new design. With proper maintenance, an aluminium frame lasts for years and can be used for hundreds of different designs.
Are the frames compatible with Keygadgets screen printing machines?
Yes. Standard aluminium frames are compatible with the K-SER Zero and K-SER1 Evo presses from Keygadgets, as well as with most manual screen printing machines on the market. The K-SER adjustment system accepts frames of different thicknesses.
Do you offer frames pre-exposed with my design?
Yes. Send us your vector file (CDR, AI or PDF) and we prepare the stretched frame exposed with your design, ready to use as soon as you receive it. Contact us on WhatsApp for more information on this service.
