Plastisol Screen Printing Inks for Textile Printing
Plastisol inks are the professional standard in textile screen printing. Unlike water-based inks, plastisol does not dry in air — it stays printable until cured with heat. This eliminates the problem of screens drying out during printing runs and guarantees brilliant colours, full coverage and superior wash resistance.
In this category you'll find Keygadgets plastisol inks selected for screen printing on T-shirts, hoodies and cotton or cotton-blend garments — including dark fabrics, where plastisol provides opacity and brilliance that water-based inks cannot match.
When to choose plastisol?
- Printing on dark fabrics — plastisol covers perfectly even on black and deep colours
- Production runs — doesn't dry on screen, allows long print sessions
- High wash resistance — heat curing ensures durability superior to water-based inks
- Brilliant, saturated colours — vivid results with high visual impact
- Professional printing — the industry standard for T-shirts, merchandise and promotional apparel
How is plastisol cured?
Plastisol requires heat to cure: 160–180°C for 3–5 minutes. Suitable equipment: flash dryer, heat press or professional conveyor dryer. Not compatible with simple heat guns for occasional small jobs — for that use case, water-based ink is recommended.
All our plastisol inks are compatible with K-SER Zero and K-SER1 Evo machines and standard aluminium and wood frames.
FAQ – Plastisol Inks
Is plastisol suitable for dark-coloured T-shirts?
Yes, it's the best choice for dark fabrics. Its opacity ensures full coverage even on black, burgundy and other deep colours. For optimal results, apply a white underbase first.
How do you cure plastisol on a T-shirt?
Plastisol cures with heat at 160–180°C for at least 3–5 minutes. A flash dryer, heat press or professional conveyor dryer is required. Without adequate heat curing, the ink is not washfast.
What is the difference between plastisol and water-based ink?
Plastisol doesn't dry in air (heat curing only), offers greater coverage and wash resistance. Water-based ink is more eco-friendly, cleans up with water and cures at lower temperatures — ideal for occasional printing and home use.
Can I use plastisol to print on paper or wood?
Plastisol is formulated primarily for textile printing. For paper, wood and rigid surfaces, solvent-based or water-based inks from our SERITEX range are recommended.
